...AND SO THE OCEAN SAVED OUR LIVES AND SET US FREE...
The OCEAN won our hearts. We are hooked for life, just like Jacques Cousteau brilliantly described in his words: "The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever."
We love the power and tranquility of the crashing waves, the sparkles reflected by its surface, the salinity of its waters but especially we love how the ocean makes us feel.
Every time we get into the ocean, whether it is on our boards, a sailboat or just swimming - we get this clarity of mind and of heart. At that moment we know what’s important, how at peace we feel, and that we want to feel this way more often, more regularly, not just on special occasions but at any time we choose to!
Everything in the water stops, your mind with the ever-busy thoughts, your problems, your worries - it all stops. All that matters is that you are. That you are in the moment. You are the moment! In the water, you live the ocean, you breathe the ocean - you are the ocean. It’s like an addiction, an overwhelming infatuation you can’t shake off. Ultimately, it’s literally a “natural” dependence!
And so it’s no wonder that within its waters our life changing decision was made. With such clarity that only ocean brings we knew what we needed to do with our lives, how we wanted to live and what path we needed to take in order to live out our dreams. So as we relaxed in its possession, we allowed ourselves to think distinctly, concisely, intensely. Conversations in the ocean became crystal clear! We knew what was next and how to make it happen.
Our path, our dream, our life, our happiness all reflected on this calling made clear by the ocean. Who would have ever known that it was as simple as stopping for a moment to listen?
Ultimately, the waters of the Pacific Ocean saved our lives. We decided to follow our dreams and let our calling set us free. So why don’t you also stop for a moment and let go. Let go so that you can realize your path and what was meant for you! Pay attention to the cues so that you too can live out your dream.
Remember that, "we are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch - we are going back from whence we came". John F. Kennedy
